The future of Memphis takes shape in its neighborhoods. When families don’t have quality and accessible housing options, the effects reach beyond any one address: families lose stability, businesses lose customers, and communities lose investment. Memphis has lost population, rents and home values have risen faster than incomes, and household sizes are smaller, yet the demand for more homes persists.

Creating 10K new and restored units by 2030 is one measurable part of the response. Alongside protecting existing homes and expanding affordability, the goal is to create more choices. Whether it’s a first apartment, room for a growing family, or someone ready to downsize, the goal is to strengthen the neighborhoods Memphians call home.
